1. Nasenclub der Welt,
Langenbruck e.V.
(1. NOSE CLUB OF THE WORLD)
"Wheter crooked, roman, or Greek, what matters is a real big beak!!!" This sentence is the slogan since 1961 from the "1.Nasenclub der Welt, Langenbruck e.V." (1. Nose Club of the world, Langenbruck). Thats how it all started: 40 years ago when some Farmers and the Priest sat together at the pub in Langenbruck/ Bavaria and were laughing at their big noses jokingly saying: We could found a nose club and you with your big chunk could be the president! .......If I´m the president you could be the Noseking!....... Max Reichart (owner of the Pub) and Wilhelm Höfler (Priest) liked the idea so much that they took the whole incident serious and a couple of weeks later on March 5. 1961 they called a meeting an 4 hours later the Club was founded.
The reason for founding the club was probably the cheep prices for hops...at that time everybody was so sad that maybe their noses looked extra huge!, said Max Reichart in a TV Interview in 1983.
40 members joined from the first hour on and the
board of directors included:
President: Georg Breitmoser, Farmer from Gambach
Vice President: Anton Ebner, MasterMechanic from
Fahlenbach
Cashier: Max Reichart from Langenbruck
Secretary: Priest Wilhelm Höfler from Langenbruck
Automatically the 5 biggest "Nose Members" have been council members.
Anybody could join! But to become an active member you must have a Nose with at least 60mm length or 40mm width. The club grew in the meantime to 286 members, has representatives in Austria and is in possession of a very modern Measuring Instrument. As the times have changed over the last 40 years , women now can become members with a minimum of 50mm length of the nose and can join the board of directors too.

have fun!
